(Participating schools from France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Spain, UK).

Summary: This student-led European project promotes awareness of everyday resource overuse and encourages sustainable practices. Students will explore ways to reduce energy, paper, food, and water waste by learning measurement techniques and developing creative solutions. Each school will showcase their efforts with a recycled exhibition item, compost food waste to grow vegetables for healthy meals, and support active lifestyles through sports activities. The goal is to foster responsibility and inspire a global shift toward sustainability.

EU Erasmus+ Project (2012-2014): Mission into the Future - A quest for sustainability

Participating Countries (France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, U.K.)

Summary: Mission into the Future (MF) is a collaborative project connecting schools across Europe to explore global sustainability. Focusing on three main themes—environment, economics, and society—the project aims to expand students' understanding from a European perspective. Supported by seven national agencies, the initiative began with a planning visit in Turkey and spans two years:

  • Year 1: Investigates the causes and effects of global warming and explores renewable energy.
  • Year 2: Examines the future role of students as European citizens, studying national challenges and political responses.

The project features hands-on research, site visits, and practical activities to inspire debate and creativity. Each school contributes by focusing on specific sustainability topics like renewable energy, recycling, and future solutions.
